On May 12, 2014 at approximately 13:23 hours the Readington Redcoats were requested for manpower into Bradley Gardens (Bridgewater) for the 2nd alarm structure fire at 104 Karen Place. Chief 34 and Chief 21 arrived initially on scene with heavy smoke showing from the exterior confirming a working fire. Bridgewater District 3 was requested along with Bradley Gardens Fire Company. Engine 21 was first due engine and pulled a 1.75 handline to the interior. Fire was found in the kitchen of the structure and quickly knocked. Squad 24 arrived setting up a ground ladder to the roof and cut a vent hole. Mutual aid was requested for manpower from Flagtown fire and Raritan Fire Company. Ladder 49 crew set up additional ladders and took out windows along with helping vent the structure. Squad 32 went in service with manpower to the scene and assisted with overhaul. Our crew operated on scene for about an hour. Job well done and quick stop by Bradley Gardens Fire keeping the fire from spreading throughout the house. Units cleared at the 14:20 hour mark.
